Hifumi and Sai are Jakurai's special case patients. They met each other due to their treatment conditions. Hifumi has gynophobia (a fear of women) and Sai has sex addiction and philophobia (a fear of love).
They are very close friends, although Sai is a woman (he still pretends Sai is a man until now).
Hifumi has a love interest in Sai, but he tries to keep their relationship within a "friend" distance.
Sai also likes Hifumi but doesn't want to get into a romantic relationship. When she noticed that she had fallen in love with Hifumi, she tried to run away from him because she knew that bad things would happen if she kept this status with him. However, Hifumi still wants to try and face his fears for her.
